52 project: wide open
Friday, October 28th, 2011
This week’s 52 project assignment was wide open, which was left open to interpretation (either referring to aperture, spatially, or some other interpretation).
I rarely take my nifty fifty (1.4 50mm) to the dog park with me compared to my zoom lens, but I decided to take it with during fetch for this assignment. I wanted to shoot wide open (aperture) and in a wide open space (the fetch area). In order to accomplish this in the sunny daylight, I was shooting pretty fast at 1/8000s and an aperture setting of 1.4 to produce the shallow depth of field! I also took a couple shots of the surrounding fall colors and Roger posing while waiting for me to throw the tennis ball!

And now check out Ann Kearns’ Pet Photography Blog to see how Ann and the rest of the gang shot wide open and keep going through to check out everyone’s contributions until you get back to Milton-man and the Rodge-man!
